Djokovic free to play at US Open after USA ends ban on unvaccinated non-citizens
The world No 1 has not been allowed in to the country for almost two years because of his decision not to be vaccinated against Covid-19

Novak Djokovic will be free to play in this year’s US Open after the US government ended its ban on unvaccinated non-citizens from entering the country.
The ban will officially be lifted on May 11, the US government said n Monday.
“Today, we are announcing that the Administration will end the COVID-19 vaccine requirements for Federal employees, Federal contractors, and international air travelers at the end of the day on May 11, the same day that the COVID-19 public health emergency ends,” the Joe Biden government said in a statement.
Djokovic was not allowed to enter the USA last year for the US Open and has missed the Indian Wells-Miami swing in each of the past two years because of his decision not to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
The world No 1 asked for an exemption from each event for which he was excluded, but it was denied.
