Gasquet, Struff, Opelka and Raonic complete eight-man field for UTS Seoul, first UTS event in Asia

The eight men will try to win a place in the season-ending UTS Grand Final

The organizers of UTS Seoul have announced the postponement of UTS Seoul. The next UTS event will therefore be the Grand Final, in London, from December 15 to 17, 2023, at ExCel London.

The field is complete for the first ever UTS event in Asia after Richard Gasquet “The Virtuoso”, Jan-Lennard Struff “The Thunder”, Reilly Opelka “The Bot” and Milos Raonic “The Missile” all signed up.

The four men will join Nick Kyrios “King Kyrgios”, Alexander Bublik “The Bublik Enemy”, Gael Monfils “La Monf” and Korea’s Soonwoo Kwon “The Machine” for the third UTS event of the year, which will be held at Goyang Gymnasium in Goyangsi, Korea, from Nov 30 to Dec 3.

With six places still up for grabs in the season-ending UTS Grand Final in London, Seoul promises to be another spectacular stop on the ever-innovative UTS Tour, after scintillating events in Los Angeles in July and Frankfurt in September.

Contesting matches of four eight-minute quarters, with 15 seconds between points, the eight men will be split into two round-robin groups of four on Dec 1 and 2, with the top two players in each group qualifying for the Final Four – two semi-finals and the final – to be played on Dec 3.

Race for Grand Final spots

The winner of UTS Seoul will then qualify for the UTS Grand Final, scheduled to be held from December 15-17 in London.

Two men – China’s Wu Yibing, “The Wall” – and Andrey Rublev “Rublo” – have already qualified for the Grand Final. Wu won the title in Los Angeles in July, beating Taylor Fritz, “The Hotshot”, in the final while Rublev beat Grigor Dimitrov “The G-Unit” to win the title in Frankfurt. The UTS Grand Final in London will decide the UTS World Champion 2023.

Ticket sales will open on August 28th and will be available to buy on Ticketlink. A special Thursday All Star Game will be held on Nov 30, with tickets available on Pleisure.
