Pole Iga Swiatek, the No 8 seed, advanced to the final of Wimbledon by winning against Swiss Belinda Bencic 6-2, 6-0 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Thursday evening.
Swiatek, ranked No 4, will face American Amanda Anisimova, the No 13 seed, next.
The Pole defeated Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 19 seed (6-2, 7-5), Dane Clara Tauson, the No 23 seed (6-4, 6-1), American Danielle Collins (6-2, 6-3), American Catherine McNally (5-7, 6-2, 6-1) and Russian Polina Kudermetova (7-5, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Bencic, ranked No 35, won against Russian Mirra Andreeva, the No 7 seed (7-6 (3), 7-6 (2)), Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 18 seed (7-6 (4), 6-4), Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto (6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7)), French qualifier Elsa Jacquemot (4-6, 6-1, 6-2) and American Alycia Parks (6-0, 6-3).
