“I’ve always related to Kyrgios in a weird way” – Osaka looks forward to pairing up with Aussie in US Open mixed-doubles
After her Wimbledon win on Monday, Naomi Osaka touched upon her link-up with Nick Kyrgios for the mixed-doubles event at the New York Major

Naomi Osaka put up an impressive show on Monday to advance to the second round of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships.
During the match, she received support from a special spectator in Nick Kyrgios, with whom she’s due to partner up for the renewed mixed-doubles competition of the 2025 US Open. The two are a pair among the star-studded field of 16 teams.
Osaka is looking forward to the event and has a special message for Kyrgios. She touched upon the same during her post-match presser on Monday, but kept the message to herself.
“I have something so crazy to say, but I’m not going to say it,” she told the media at SW19. “I’m not going to. I’ll see him in person and say it.”

Kyrgios carries a strong sense of individuality that has contrasting effects on bystanders, but Osaka seems to understand the position the Aussie has been in.
“I am really excited to play mixed doubles with him,” she added. “I think he’s obviously won a doubles tournament. Yeah, I think it should be fun. I don’t know, I have always felt like I’ve always related to him in a weird way, even though we’re completely different. I kind of understand some of the things that he does.
“So yeah, I am glad that he came to my match. I hope in some way maybe he felt I wouldn’t be bold enough to say ‘inspired’, but I hope he could relate a little bit to the things that I do, too.”
