Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the No 3 seed, edged out Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 5 seed, 6-7 (1), 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the final of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Friday afternoon.
Alcaraz, ranked No 3, will face the winner of the match between Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 25 seed, and Serb Novak Djokovic, the second seed, next.
The 21-year-old Spaniard won against Estonian qualifier Mark Lajal (7-6 (3), 7-5, 6-2), Australian Aleksandar Vukic (7-6 (5), 6-2, 6-2), American Frances Tiafoe, the No 29 seed (5-7, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (2), 6-2), Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 16 seed (6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5) and American Tommy Paul, the No 12 seed (5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of The Championships, Medvedev, ranked No 5, beat American Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-3, 6-4, 6-2), Frenchman Alexandre Muller (6-7 (3), 7-6 (4), 6-4, 7-5), German Jan-Lennard Struff (6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (3)), Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 10 seed (5-3 ret.) and Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed (6-7 (7), 6-4, 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-3).
