Wimbledon: Juvan books spot in third round

Kaja Juvan won against Dalma Galfi 7-5, 6-3 on Wednesday evening. She’ll face the winner of the match between Chinese Qiang Wang and Heather Watson in the next round

Slovenian Kaja Juvan reached the third round of Wimbledon by winning against Hungarian Dalma Galfi 7-5, 6-3 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Wednesday evening.

Juvan, ranked No 62, will face the winner of the match between Chinese Qiang Wang and Heather Watson next.

The 21-year-old Slovenian defeated Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 23 seed (6-4, 4-6, 6-2) in the previous round.

In the first round, Galfi, ranked No 89, edged out Australian qualifier Maddison Inglis (5-7, 6-3, 6-4).
