Wimbledon: Sinner moves into third round
Jannik Sinner beat Diego Schwartzman 7-5, 6-1, 6-2 on Wednesday evening. He’ll play Frenchman Quentin Halys in the next round
Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 8 seed, advanced to the third round of Wimbledon by defeating Argentinian Diego Schwartzman 7-5, 6-1, 6-2 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Wednesday evening.
Sinner, ranked No 8, will face Frenchman Quentin Halys next.
Ahead of his victory, the 21-year-old Italian won against Argentinian Juan Manuel Cerundolo (6-2, 6-2, 6-2).
Schwartzman, ranked No 98, won against Serb Miomir Kecmanovic (6-0, 6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of The Championships.
