Andorrà Open: Erika Andreeva fights back to beat Watson and reach final

Russian Erika Andreeva defeated Heather Watson 6-7 (6), 7-5, 6-0 to move into the final of the Andorrà Open at Polideportivo de Andorra in Andorre.

Andreeva, ranked No 140, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera, the No 6 seed, and Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 8 seed, next.

The 19-year-old Russian won against Swiss Susan Bandecchi (6-3, 6-4), Swiss Celine Naef (2-6, 6-4, 6-4) and German wildcard Ella Seidel (6-4, 7-5) in the previous rounds of the Andorrà tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, Watson, ranked No 166, won against Hungarian Timea Babos (7-5, 6-0), Russian wildcard Alina Charaeva (6-2, 6-1) and Frenchwoman Jessika Ponchet (W/O).
