Andorrà Open: Watson into semis as Ponchet withdraws
Heather Watson benefited from the forfeit of Jessika Ponchet on Friday afternoon and will play the winner of the match between Russian Erika Andreeva and German wildcard Ella Seidel in the next round

Heather Watson reached the semi-finals of the Andorrà Open after Frenchwoman Jessika Ponchet withdrew before the match at Polideportivo de Andorra in Andorre on Friday afternoon.
Watson, ranked No 166, will face the winner of the match between Russian Erika Andreeva and German wildcard Ella Seidel next.
Heather Watson won against Hungarian Timea Babos (7-5, 6-0) and Russian wildcard Alina Charaeva (6-2, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Andorrà tournament, Ponchet, ranked No 124, edged out Tereza Martincova (6-4, 1-6, 7-5) and Elsa Jacquemot (4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4)).
