Bad Homburg Open: Gracheva advances to quarter-finals

Russian Varvara Gracheva, the No 8 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Bad Homburg Open by beating Italian Sara Errani 6-2, 7-5 at Bod Hombourg vor der Höhe on Tuesday.
Gracheva, ranked No 43, will face the winner of the match between Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 4 seed, and Italian Lucia Bronzetti next.
Ahead of her victory, the 22-year-old Russian won against Romanian Jaqueline Cristian (6-2, 6-1).
Errani, ranked No 80, defeated Belgian qualifier Maryna Zanevska (6-2, 6-3) in the previous round of the Bad Hombourg tournament.
