Bad Homburg Open: Sakkari reaches second round

Greek wildcard Maria Sakkari won against Kazakh Yulia Putintseva 7-5, 7-6 (6) to reach the second round of the Bad Homburg Open at the Bad Homburg vor der Höhe on Sunday.

Sakkari, ranked No 86, will play the winner of the match between Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 8 seed, and Swiss Belinda Bencic next.
