Qualifier En-Shuo Liang moved into the last 16 of the Barranquilla Open by beating Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 3 seed, 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2 on Tuesday.
Liang, ranked No 291, will play Argentinian Solana Sierra next.
