Berlin Open: Samsonova dismantles Anisimova to make last four
Liudmila Samsonova won against Amanda Anisimova 6-1, 6-1 on Friday evening and will face Chinese qualifier Xinyu Wang in the next round

Russian Liudmila Samsonova reached the semi-finals of the Berlin Open by winning against American Amanda Anisimova 6-1, 6-1 at the Rot-Weiss Tennis Club.
Samsonova, ranked No 20, will face Chinese qualifier Xinyu Wang next.
The Russian edged out Japanese wildcard Naomi Osaka (3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4) and American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed (6-7 (8), 7-5, 7-6 (5)) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Berlin tournament, Anisimova, ranked No 13, defeated Canadian wildcard Bianca Andreescu (6-4, 6-3) and Pole Magdalena Frech (6-2, 4-6, 6-3).
