Kawa wins the battle of qualifiers to book spot in Bogota final

Pole qualifier Katarzyna Kawa beat American qualifier Julieta Pareja 7-5, 6-2 to advance to the final of the Bogota Open at the Country Club Bogota on Saturday.
Kawa, ranked No 223, will play Colombian Camila Osorio, the second seed, next.
The Pole won against Colombian wildcard Valentina Mediorreal Arias (6-1, 6-1), Brazilian Laura Pigossi (1-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3) and top seed Marie Bouzkova (5-7, 6-1, 7-5) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Bogota tournament, Julieta Pareja won against Colombian wildcard Maria Jose Sanchez Uribe (6-1, 6-1), Romanian lucky loser Patricia Maria Tig (6-3, 7-6 (3)) and Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean (7-6 (5), 6-3).
