Budapest Open: Niemeier moves into second round

Jule Niemeier beat Magdalena Frech 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 on Tuesday. She’ll play the winner of the match between Slovenian Tamara Zidansek and Hungarian wildcard Fanny Stollar in the next round

German Jule Niemeier moved into the second round of the Budapest Open by winning against Pole Magdalena Frech 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 at Római Tennis Academy on Tuesday.

Niemeier, ranked No 72, will face the winner of the match between Slovenian Tamara Zidansek and Hungarian wildcard Fanny Stollar next.
