Ukrainian Valeriya Strakhova won against Colombian wildcard Maria Herazo Gonzalez 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the second round of the Cali Open at the Club Campestre de Cali on Tuesday.
Strakhova, ranked No 389, will face the winner of the match between American Caroline Dolehide, the No 5 seed, and Brazilian qualifier Carolina M. Alves next.
