Montreal: Zhang Shuai extends losing streak with first round loss to Blinkova

Russian Anna Blinkova won against Chinese Shuai Zhang 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Canadian Open at Stade IGA in Montreal on Tuesday.

The loss was the 16th in a row for Zhang Shuai on tour, with her last win coming in Lyon on January 31st this year.

This was also Zhang’s first match since the controversial match against Amarissa Toth at the Hungarian Open which she forfeited after a dispute over a line call.
