Belarusian Iryna Shymanovich advanced to the last 16 of the Cancun Tennis Open by winning against German Tatjana Maria, the top seed, 6-2, 6-2 on Tuesday.
Shymanovich, ranked No 234, will face the winner of the match between Australian Taylah Preston and Mexican wildcard Victoria Rodriguez next.
