Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 8 seed, reached the last 16 of the Catalonia Open by winning against Spanish wildcard Marina Bassols Ribera 6-4, 6-0 on Tuesday.
Rakhimova, ranked No 83, will face Spaniard Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales next.
