Charleston Open 125: Shnaider advances to final

Russian Diana Shnaider, the No 7 seed, won against Chinese Yafan Wang, the No 6 seed, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 to move into the final of the Charleston Open 125 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Friday evening.
Shnaider, ranked No 74, will play Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the No 4 seed, next.
The 19-year-old Russian beat American wildcard Dalayna Hewitt (6-2, 6-4), Romanian Jaqueline Cristian (6-1, 7-5) and Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin (6-3, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Charleston 125 tournament, Wang, ranked No 66, won against Japanese lucky loser Mai Hontama (7-6 (6), 6-4), Italian Sara Errani (6-4, 6-4) and Russian qualifier Erika Andreeva (6-2, 6-4).
