Charleston Open: Dolehide makes last 16

American wildcard Caroline Dolehide defeated Czech Linda Fruhvirtova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 to move into the last 16 of the Charleston Open at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Wednesday evening.

Dolehide, ranked No 172, will face Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the second seed, next.

Ahead of her victory, the American won against German qualifier Sabine Lisicki (6-4, 6-4).

Fruhvirtova, ranked No 60, beat Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 14 seed (6-2, 3-6, 6-2) in the previous round of the Charleston tournament.
