Charleston Open: Stephens comes from behind to set up Azarenka clash in second round

Former US Open champion Sloane Stephens advanced to the second round of the Charleston Open by beating qualifier Louisa Chirico 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Monday.

Stephens, ranked No 50 in the world, will play another former Grand Slam winner, No 6 seed Victoria Azarenka, next.

Stephens holds a 4-3 edge over Azarenka in their head-to-head including wins in their last four matches.
