Qualifier Harriet Dart beat Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the No 5 seed, 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 to reach the last eight of the Cluj-Napoca Open at the BTarena.
Dart, currently ranked No 103, is now set to move back into the top 100 when the rankings are updated next week.
She will play Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz next.
Harriet Dart won against Hungarian lucky loser Anna Bondar (6-4, 7-6) in the previous round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament.
In the previous round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament, Cocciaretto, ranked No 56, won against Colombian qualifier Emiliana Arango (6-0, 6-1).
