German qualifier Ella Seidel beat Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the No 8 seed, 6-4, 6-2 to move into the second round of the Cluj-Napoca Open at the BT Arena on Wednesday.
Seidel, ranked No 143, will face Russian Anna Blinkova next.
