American Elizabeth Mandlik, the No 7 seed, advanced to the last 8 of the Colina Open by winning against Brazilian Laura Pigossi 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 at the Club Deportivo Universidad Catolica.
Mandlik, ranked No 125, will play Ukrainian Yulia Starodubtsewa next.
The 22-year-old American beat Peruvian wildcard Lucciana Perez Alarcon (6-1, 6-0) in the previous round of the Chilean tournament.
In the previous round of the Chilean tournament, Pigossi, ranked No 136, won against Frenchwoman Carole Monnet (4-6, 6-0, 6-3).
