Indian qualifier Ankita Raina defeated Russian Elina Avanesyan 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 to move into the last 16 of the Firenze Ladies Open on Wednesday.

Raina, ranked No 218, will face No 6 seed Sara Errani next.
