Grand Est Open 88: Jakupovic goes down to Janicijevic in the quarters

Frenchwoman Selena Janicijevic moved into the semi-finals of the Grand Est Open 88 by winning against Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Friday evening.
Janicijevic, ranked No 225, will face Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, next.
The 21-year-old Frenchwoman defeated wildcard Amandine Hesse (6-1, 6-3) and Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens, the No 7 seed (6-4, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Jakupovic, ranked No 212, beat Croat Lucija Ciric Bagaric, the No 9 seed (6-1, 6-3) and edged out Spaniard Leyre Romero Gormaz (3-6, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (4)).
