Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu reached the last 16 of the Hamburg European Open by defeating Latvian Darja Semenistaja 6-3, 6-2 on Sunday.
Begu, ranked No 143, will face the winner of the match between Greek Despina Papamichail and German Tamara Korpatsch, the second seed, next.
