Indian Wells: Kostyuk into last eight

Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 31 seed, advanced to the last eight of the Indian Wells by winning against Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, the No 22 seed, 6-4, 6-1 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Tuesday evening.
Kostyuk, ranked No 32, will face Russian Anastasia Potapova, the No 28 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 21-year-old Ukrainian beat Japanese qualifier Mai Hontama (6-4, 6-2) and No 7 seed Marketa Vondrousova (W/O).
Pavlyuchenkova, ranked No 24, defeated Spanish qualifier Nuria Parrizas Diaz (6-3, 6-1) and Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 12 seed (2-6, 6-4, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
