Indian Wells: Parry sends Fernandez home in three sets

Frenchwoman Diane Parry won against Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 29 seed, 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 to move into the third round of the Indian Wells at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Saturday evening.

Parry, ranked No 61, will face the winner of the match between American Jessica Pegula, the No 5 seed, and Russian Anna Blinkova next.

The 21-year-old Frenchman beat Italian Martina Trevisan (7-5, 6-3) in the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament.
