Qualifier Hailey Baptiste moved into the second round of the Indian Wells WTA 1000 by winning against qualifier Whitney Osuigwe 6-1, 6-2 in California on Wednesday.
Baptiste, ranked No 100, will face No 14 seed Danielle Collins next.
