Indian Wells WTA: Cocciaretto advances after Zarazua injury
Elisabetta Cocciaretto advanced when Renata Zarazua retired injured (6-4, 1-0) on Wednesday and will play No 15 seed Karolina Muchova in the next round

Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto reached the second round of the Indian Wells WTA 1000 when Mexican Renata Zarazua retired at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Wednesday.
Cocciaretto, ranked No 72, led 6-4, 1-0 when Zarazua, ranked No 69, pulled out due to a left knee injury.
The Italian will play No 15 seed Karolina Muchova next.
