Italian Open: Andreeva overcomes first-set loss to Tauson to make the quarter-finals

Russian Mirra Andreeva, the No 7 seed, won against Dane Clara Tauson, the No 22 seed, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Italian Open at the Foro Italico in Roma on Monday.
Andreeva, ranked No 7, will play American Coco Gauff, the No 4 seed, next.
The 18-year-old Russian beat Colombian qualifier Emiliana Arango (6-2, 6-4) and No 30 seed Linda Noskova (6-1, 7-5) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Rome tournament, Tauson, ranked No 23, benefited from the abandonment of American qualifier Katie Volynets (7-5, 4-1) and edged out American Emma Navarro, the No 10 seed (3-6, 6-0, 6-4).
