Italian Open: Ostapenko cruises into third round
Jelena Ostapenko won against Anastasia Potapova 6-4, 6-2 on Friday afternoon and will face Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo in the next round

Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 9 seed, moved into the third round of the Italian Open by defeating Russian Anastasia Potapova 6-4, 6-2 at the Foro Italico in Rome on Friday afternoon.
Ostapenko, ranked No 10, will face Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo next.
Potapova, ranked No 43, won against Chinese Xiyu Wang (6-1, 7-5) in the previous round of the Rome tournament.
