Pole wildcard Katarzyna Kawa edged out Italian Martina Trevisan, the No 3 seed, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 to move into the second round of the Jasmin Open at the Skanes Family Hotel Monastir.
Kawa, ranked No 217, will play Lucrezia Stefanini next.
