Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz reached the quarter-finals of the Jasmin Open by beating Ukrainian qualifier Katarina Zavatska 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 at the Skanes Family Hotel Monastir on Thursday afternoon.
Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 135, will play the winner of the match between Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko, the No 4 seed, and American Claire Liu next.
Ahead of her victory, the Spaniard edged out Pole Magdalena Frech, the No 7 seed (6-2, 0-6, 6-4).
Zavatska, ranked No 171, won against Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Monastir tournament.
