Jiangxi Open: Hibino moves into quarter-finals

Japanese Nao Hibino defeated Australian Kimberly Birrell 6-3, 7-5 to move into the quarter-finals of the Jiangxi Open at Nanchang International Tennis Center on Wednesday night.
Hibino, ranked No 93, will face the winner of the match between Vera Zvonareva and Diana Shnaider next.
The Japanese won against Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the top seed (7-6 (2), 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Jiangxi tournament, Birrell, ranked No 102, won against Chinese qualifier Sijia Wei (7-5, 7-5).
