Colombian Camila Osorio reached the quarter-finals of the Jiangxi Open by beating Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the No 8 seed, 6-4, 7-5 at Nanchang International Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon.
Osorio, ranked No 76, will face No 3 seed Marie Bouzkova next.
The 21-year-old Colombian won against Chinese qualifier YeXin Ma (6-1, 6-0) in the previous round of the Jiangxi tournament.
In the first round of the Jiangxi tournament, Sorribes Tormo, ranked No 55, defeated Chinese wildcard Xinyu Jiang (6-4, 6-0).
