Russian Elena Pridankina beat German Ella Seidel 6-3, 7-6 (6) to reach the second round of the Jiangxi Open at the Nanchang International Tennis Center on Monday.

Pridankina, ranked No 179, will face the winner of the match between Croat Petra Martic and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 5 seed, next.
