Jiangxi Open: Siegemund into semi-finals to face Sramkova
The German veteran defeated Mananchaya Sawangkaew 6-4, 6-2 in the quarter-finals on Friday

German Laura Siegemund won against Thai qualifier Mananchaya Sawangkaew 6-4, 6-2 to reach the semi-finals of the Jiangxi Open on Friday.
Siegemund, a former top 30 player who is now ranked No 101, will face Slovak Rebecca Sramkova, the second seed, next. It will be her ninth WTA Tour level quarter-final.
Ahead of her win today, the 36-year-old German beat Japanese Moyuka Uchijima, the No 3 seed (7-5, 6-3) and Tamara Korpatsch (6-4, 6-4).
Sawangkaew, ranked No 147, defeated Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 7 seed (6-4, 4-6, 6-2) and edged out Chinese wildcard Saisai Zheng (4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (6)) in the previous rounds of the tournament.
