Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships: Zhu advances to semi-finals
Lin Zhu defeated Elizabeth Mandlik 6-3, 6-2 on Friday and will play Chinese Xinyu Wang, the No 3 seed, in the next round

Chinese Lin Zhu, the top seed, advanced to the last four of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships by winning against American qualifier Elizabeth Mandlik 6-3, 6-2 on Friday.
Zhu, ranked No 35, will play Chinese Xinyu Wang, the No 3 seed, next.
The Chinese defeated Xiyu Wang (6-4, 6-4) and Japanese wildcard Moyuka Uchijima (6-4, 4-6, 6-1) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Mandlik, ranked No 167, beat Frenchwoman Diane Parry (7-5, 6-2) and Canadian Rebecca Marino (7-5, 3-6, 6-1).
