Chinese Yue Yuan advanced to the final of the Korea Open by winning against American Emina Bektas 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-2.
Yuan, ranked No 128, will face the winner of the match between American Jessica Pegula, the top seed, and Belgian Yanina Wickmayer next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Chinese defeated Dutch qualifier Arianne Hartono (6-1, 6-2), Slovenian Kaja Juvan (6-4, 4-1 ret.) and No 4 seed Marie Bouzkova (7-5, 7-6 (7)).
Bektas, ranked No 116, won against Brazilian Laura Pigossi (6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-5), Su Jeong Jang (6-3, 6-4) and Australian Kimberly Birrell (4-6, 6-3, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Seoul tournament.
