Serb Olga Danilovic defeated Romanian lucky loser Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-3 to move into the last eight of the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bisbal d’Emporda on Thursday.
Danilovic, ranked No 128, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot and Austrian Sinja Kraus next.
The Serb won against Latvian Darja Semenistaja, the No 8 seed (6-3, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the La Bisbal d’Emporda tournament, Ruse, ranked No 168, won against Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz (6-2, 6-1).
