La Bisbal d’Emporda Open: Masarova advances to semi-finals

Spaniard Rebeka Masarova, the No 5 seed, won against Slovak Rebecca Sramkova 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 to advance to the semi-finals of the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bisbal d’Emporda on Friday evening.

Masarova, ranked No 91, will play Serb Olga Danilovic next.

In the previous rounds of the La Bislab d’Emporda tournament, the Spaniard defeated Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro (2-6, 6-1, 6-1) and Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (6-3, 6-2).

Sramkova, ranked No 121, beat Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean (6-0, 7-5) and edged out French wildcard Kristina Mladenovic (7-5, 4-6, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
