Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 3 seed, defeated Russian Anastasia Zakharova 6-1, 6-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the Lasi Open at Baza Sportivă Ciric in Iasi on Thursday afternoon.
Bogdan, ranked No 75, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Nadia Podoroska and Georgian Ekaterine Gorgodze, the No 8 seed, next.
The Romanian won against wildcard Oana Georgeta Simion (6-0, 6-2) in the previous round.
Zakharova, ranked No 163, beat Romanian wildcard Andreea Prisacariu (6-0, 6-3).
