Lausanne Open: Waltert books spot in second round

Simona Waltert edged out Danielle Collins 6-7 (5), 6-3, 7-6 (6) on Tuesday and will face Spanish qualifier Cristina Bucsa in the next round

Swiss wildcard Simona Waltert moved into the second round of the Lausanne Open by edging out American Danielle Collins, the top seed, 6-7 (5), 6-3, 7-6 (6) at Tennis Club du Stade-Lausanne on Tuesday afternoon.

Waltert, ranked No 154, will face Spanish qualifier Cristina Bucsa next.
