Madrid Masters: Cerundolo eases past qualifier Mayot to move into third round

Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 20 seed, advanced to the third round of the Madrid Masters by winning against French qualifier Harold Mayot 6-3, 6-4 at the Caja Mágica.
Cerundolo, ranked No 21, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Francisco Comesana and Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 13 seed, next.
Mayot, ranked No 160, benefited from the abandonment of Corentin Moutet (6-3, 4-2) in the previous round of the Madrid tournament.
