Solana Sierra lifted the trophy on Sunday by defeating Leyre Romero Gormaz in the final

Argentinian Solana Sierra, the No 8 seed, defeated Spaniard Leyre Romero Gormaz 6-3, 6-4 to win the Megasaray Hotels Open 3 trophy on Sunday.
Sierra and Romero Gormaz broke each other constantly during their 98-minute-long battle but the former prevailed with six break-point conversions, two more than her opponent.
The triumph meant Sierra climbed up to world No 119 in the live WTA rankings, securing a new career-high.
Sierra, ranked No 152, beat Russian Tatiana Prozorova (6-0, 6-7 (5), 6-4), Russian Ekaterina Makarova (0-6, 6-1, 6-2), Hungarian Anna Bondar, the top seed (6-4, 6-2) and Australian Astra Sharma (6-1, 6-0) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Romero Gormaz, ranked No 142, beat Ipek Oz (6-3, 6-0), wildcard Ayla Aksu (7-5, 2-6, 6-4), Swiss Simona Waltert (7-6 (4), 6-4) and Croat qualifier Tara Wuerth (6-3, 6-0).
