Miami Open: Andreescu into third round after defeating Sakkari
Bianca Andreescu edged out Maria Sakkari 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 on Friday and will play the winner of the match between American Sofia Kenin and Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, the No 28 seed, in the next round

Canadian Bianca Andreescu reached the third round of the Miami Open by edging out Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 7 seed, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Friday.
Andreescu will be hoping it’s a good omen – she beat the same opponent en route to the Miami final in 2021.
And neither can have been too surprised by the lengthy match – over half of the Greek’s matches this season have gone to three sets.
Andreescu, ranked No 31, will play the winner of the match between American Sofia Kenin and Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, the No 28 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Miami tournament, the 22-year-old Canadian won against Emma Raducanu (6-3, 3-6, 6-2).
