Miami Open: Garcia reaches third round

Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 23 seed, moved into the third round of the Miami Open when Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova retired at the Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday night.
Garcia, ranked No 27, led 6-1, 5-2 when Tomova, ranked No 73, pulled out at the Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday night, for a back problem.
The Frenchwoman will face the winner of the match between Japanese Naomi Osaka and Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the No 15 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Miami tournament, the Bulgarian defeated German lucky loser Tamara Korpatsch (6-2, 6-4).
